Mitchell County (N.C.) 12, Hampton 9
The Bulldogs were unable to battle back from an early deficit despite a hard-fought effort.
After Mitchell County took a 6-0 lead in the top of the third, Hampton chipped away with two runs in the home side of the fourth. The Mountaineers pushed the lead with four runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth, but the Bulldogs continued to battle with four in the bottom of the sixth and three more in the seventh.
However, Hampton was unable to complete the rally.
Jaden Kuhn had three hits and two RBIs, while Chance Point and Brody Hicks both added two hits and an RBI apiece.
Noah Nichols had two hits for the Bulldogs.
On the mound, Hicks struck out five batters while allowing just three earned runs on four hits.
FCA Flames 11, Johnson County 2
The FCA Flames rolled to win over the Longhorns on Friday.
Carson Shah, Andrew Joyner, John Melandez, Rylan Jesse, Elijah Johnson, and Keith Austin each had two hits for the Flames.
Smith-Cotton (Ind) 8, Elizabethton 7 (Thursday)
The Cyclones dropped a heartbreaker on Thursday as Smith-Cotton scored four runs in the top of the final inning to take the win.
Kaleb Hambrick had three hits, while Hayden Nave added two hits for the Cyclone cause. Peyton Johnson, Rhett Slagle, and Steven Meadows each had a hit.
Connor Edmundson allowed no earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts in four innings of work.
Farragut 10, Unaka 0
The Lady Rangers came up short but didn’t back down from a challenge against defending back-to-back state champions on Friday.
The Lady Rangers saw the Lady Admirals slowly extend the lead despite a battle from Unaka.
Kylie Blevins was 2-for-3 to lead Unaka, while Trinity Bowers and Mattie Salyer had a hit a piece.
Chuckey-Doak 2, Happy Valley 0 (Thursday)
The Lady Warriors battled on Thursday but were unable to edge ahead of Chuckey-Doak.
Aleah Grindstaff, June Nieminski, Trista Bowers, Mikayla Miller, and Trinity Bowers each had a hit for HV.
