Friday Round-up: Lady Cyclones Cruise Past Avery; Rangers Fall

The Lady Cyclones scored early and often to roll past Avery County.

EHS plated five runs in the top of the first and pushed the lead to 6-0 after the second.

Elizabethton erased any thought of a Lady Viking comeback as they scored 12 runs in the third.

Maely Ingram and Emma ‘Quinn had three RBI hits apiece, while Lela Byrd had two hits and three RBI.

Kenidy Harris, Ember Jensen, Cheyenne Poiroux, and Lana Ward each recorded two hits for EHS as Elizabethton finished with 21 total hits.

Mollie Johnson picked up the win as she recorded five strikeouts in two innings of work, while Lilly McDuffie allowed just one run on two hits with two strikeouts in two innings of relief work.

The Rangers were unable to overcome a quick start by Cocke County on Friday afternoon.

Brayden Powell, Jamol Blamo, and Jacob Nidiffer each had a hit for Unaka, while Blamo recorded an RBI.
