Friday Round-up: Lady ‘Landers Cruise To Win; Hampton Sweeps Thursday League Clash

The Lady ‘Landers set the tone early.

Cloudland jumped out to a 16-4 lead after a quarter of play and held the Lady Bucs to just one point in the second stanza to take a 28-5 lead halftime lead.

Izabella Christman and Makinna Shell had 14 points apiece. Makenzie Street scored eight points.

University High 82, Cloudland 26
The ‘Landers were unable to overcome a quick UH start.

The Bucs came out firing on all cylinders and jumped out to a 24-9 lead after a quarter of play. Cloudland kept battling but was unable to battle back.

Cooper Smith led Cloudland with 13 points, while Eli Morgan and Kingston Cole had five points apiece.

Hampton 62, West Greene 39
The Bulldogs pulled away in the second half to roll to a win.

After leading 24-19 at the half, HHS outscored West Greene 25-15 in the third quarter and never looked back.

Hayden Campbell led the Bulldogs with 17 points. Michael Anspaugh had 12 points.

Chance Point and Geno Carrico had nine points apiece, while Dylan Trivett scored seven points.

Elizabethton 65, Johnson County 30
Elizabethton picked up a road win on Thursday night.

Jackson Hobbs scored 19 points for the Orange and Black, while Hudson Pate scored 13 points.

Mac Paulson scored 11 points.

Hampton 65, West Greene 45
The Lady Bulldogs methodically pulled away for a league win on Thursday night.

Hampton led 12-8 after a quarter of play and pushed the advantage out to 31-20 at the break.

HHS outscored WG 20-9 in the third to take full control.

Faye Carrico had 14 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs, while Hannah Smith finished with 12 points. Piper Helle and Macy Henry had nine and eight points, respectively.
