Friday Round-up: Lady Rangers, Rangers Roll Past Hancock; Hampton Takes Varsity Sweep Over Unicoi

Hampton 75, Unicoi County 53
The Bulldogs used a quick start to jump out and never looked back.

Hampton outscored Unicoi 20-8 in the opening quarter and rolled to a 46-17 lead at the half.

Chase Davenport had 19 points to lead Hampton, while Bryce Fagan had 14 points. Tuff Robinson added 11 points.

Jayden Nave and Caden Davis added nine points apiece. Tyler Blevins tossed in eight points.

Kade Cutlip led Unicoi with 16 points, while Kaden Cutlip had 15 points.

Unaka 64, Hancock County 49
The Rangers methodically pulled away for a win on Friday night.

The Rangers saw five players score in the opening eight minutes as UHS took a 20-12 lead after a quarter of play. Unaka pushed the lead to 32-25 at the half.

The second half was much the same as the Rangers slowly added to their lead to take the win.

John Hardin had 22 points to lead Unaka, while Rylan Crabtree had 15 points. TJ Good and Mason Wilson added 10 points apiece.

Elizabethton 85, Johnson County 49
It was all Elizabethton.

The Cyclones jumped out early and never looked back.

Justin Whitehead had 33 points to lead the way for EHS, while Zach Wallin added 21 points. Hudson Pate finished with 10 points.

Johnson County saw Darren Chappell score 24 points.

Sullivan East 66, Happy Valley 45
The Warriors were unable to overcome a big second quarter by the Patriots.

East used a 20-3 run in the second quarter to take control and was able to keep HV at bay despite a hard-fought Warrior effort.

Ron Paul Parker had 17 points to lead HV.

Girls
Hampton 64, Unicoi County 40
A strong third quarter gave Hampton all the momentum.

After trailing 15-9 after the first quarter, Hampton was able to battle back and take a 28-21 lead into the locker room at the half.

In the third quarter, it was all Hampton as the Lady Bulldogs outscored Unicoi 24-9 to take full control.

Piper Helle tallied 13 points. Ella Estep, Faye Carrico, and Hannah Smith each added 12 points.

Unaka 66, Hancock County 25
The Lady Rangers erased a halftime deficit in a big way Friday night.

After Hancock County held a 20-16 into the half, Unaka outscored the Lady Indians 33-4 in the third quarter to seize control.

The Lady Rangers left no doubt in the fourth by outscoring Hancock 17-7.

Lauren Lund and Brooklyn Campbell led Unaka with 19 points apiece, while Michelle Shields had 16 points. Katlyn Dugger added five points.

Sullivan East 68, Happy Valley 43
The Lady Warriors were unable to overcome a quick Sullivan East start.

The Lady Patriots scored 30 points in the first eight minutes to take control of the game on Warrior Hill.

Josephine Zeoli had 15 points to lead HV. Cayden Anderson scored 12 points, while Shaniece Gardner scored 10 points.
