Friday Round-up: Lady Warriors upend Central, Cyclones win OT Thriller

Happy Valley 50, Sullivan Central 44 (girls)
The Lady Warriors held on late for a crucial Three Rivers win.

After jumping out to a 12-point lead in the fourth quarter, HV held on in the closing minutes to withstand a furious rally from the Lady Cougars.

Gabby Wood had 15 points to pace HV. Emma Blevins tallied nine points and Kadie Bailey had eight points.


Elizabethton 64, Johnson County 33 (girls)
The Lady Cyclones jumped out early and never looked back.

Elizabethton ran to a 27-point half time lead and was never threatened the best of the way.

Lina Lyon, who had 14 first-half points, led the way with 19 points, while Morgan Headrick and Renna Lane had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Emmy Miller and Sadie Stout recorded 10 points apiece for the Lady Longhorns.

Elizabethton 77, Johnson County 76 OT (boys)
The Cyclones had to work overtime but came away with a thrilling road win.

After Johnson County’s Jackson Earnhardt forced an extra period in the closing seconds, the teams went back-and-forth with EHS coming out on top.

Jake Roberts had 30 points to lead Elizabethton. William Willocks and Brayden Phillips had 14 and 11 points, respectively.

Earnhardt finished with 31 points.

Sullivan North 53, Cloudland 31 (boys)
The ‘Landers came up short on Friday night.

Cloudland was unable to keep pace with the Golden Raiders despite a hard-fought effort.

Victor Hicks led Cloudland with nine points.

Sullivan Central 65, Happy Valley 34 (boys)
The Warriors were unable to overcome an early deficit.

Central started the game on a 13-0 run and held an 18-3 lead after a quarter of play. HV continued to battle but was unable to get anything going offensively the rest of the way.

Alex Lunceford had 12 points. Blake Young finished with seven points.
