The Hampton boys’ basketball team broke into the top 10 while the Lady Cyclones stayed atop the poll.
The Bulldogs boys’ basketball team was ranked at No. 10 in the Class A Boys’ Basketball poll with 12 points. It is the first appearance inside the top 10 for Hampton after receiving votes.
Halls was ranked No. 1 in the poll, while Mitchell and Clay County rounded out the top three.
The Lady Cyclones remained ranked No. 1 in the Class AA Girls’ Basketball poll. Elizabethton is 20-0 on the season, and was an unanimous No. 1 selection. McMinn Central and Westview rounded out the top three. Other local teams in the poll include Grainger (No. 8) and Greeneville (No. 10).
Hampton and Elizabethton both return to action on Tuesday night.
