Hampton holds steady, Cloudland drops

In the latest Tennessee AP Prep Football Top 10, the Highlanders tumbled five spots, while Hampton remained steady in their respective classes.

Cloudland dropped to No. 8 in the Class A poll after Friday’s loss to North Greene. The ‘Landers recorded 61 votes, just seven points away from the sixth position. Union City continued to hold all first place votes to claim the No. 1 spot, while Nashville Christian School was a unanimous No. 2 selection. Columbia Academy, Greenback and Coalfield round out the top five.

Hampton continued to receive a first-place vote as they as they held the No. 9 spot in Class 2A with 41 points. Trinity Christian Academy recorded 14 of 16 first-place votes to claim the top spot, while Adamsville and Peabody were second and third, respectively. Marion County and Huntingdon rounded out the top five.

In Class 4A, Elizabethton missed the top 10 by eight points. Three Rivers Conference mate Sullivan South was ranked No. 10 in the poll.
