Hampton opened Region 1-A play with a statement.
The Bulldogs rolled to a 46-7 victory over Sunbright on the road Friday night. With the win, Hampton improves to 3-0 on the season.
Isaiah Belcher opened the scoring on the opening drive of the game as he scored from 10 yards out. Peyton Townsend added the two-point conversion as HHS took an 8-0 lead two minutes into the game.
The Bulldogs struck again as Connor McKinney found Sage Milhorn for a 40-yard touchdown pass midway through the first. McKinney added the two-point conversion on a keeper.
Hampton pushed the lead to 22-0 with a Jayden Kuhn touchdown run.
The Bulldogs opened the second quarter with a big play on special teams as HHS recovered an errant Sunbright snap on a punt in the endzone for a touchdown. JJ Cable added the two-point conversion to give HHS a 30-0 lead in the opening seconds of the quarter.
McKinney struck midway through the quarter on a 14-yard run and added the two-point conversion as HHS held a 38-0 lead at the half.
Hampton accounted for their final score on the opening kickoff of the second half as Brock Shelby took the kickoff 76 yards for a touchdown.
The Bulldogs are set to return to nonconference action against Happy Valley next Friday night.
