Hampton took care of business on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs pulled away in the second quarter and never looked back in a 73-55 victory over Hancock County in the Region 1-A Semifinals at Washburn. With the win, Hampton secured a spot in Thursday’s Region 1-A Championship game and a spot in Monday’s sectional round.
A back-and-forth first quarter saw Hampton hold a 13-9 lead after eight minutes of play. The Indians jumped out early in the second, but Hampton was able to use a run to take a 34-24 lead into the half.
From there, it was all Bulldogs.
Hampton opened the third quarter with back-to-back shots and pushed the lead to 61-39 by the end of the third.
Tuff Robinson tallied 22 points to lead the way, while Colby Clark finished with 21 points. Chase Davenport added 14 points. Bryce Fagan scored 10 points.
