The Bulldogs wrapped up the Region 1-2A title in style.
Hampton scored early and often en route to a 61-0 victory at North Greene on Friday night. The win secures the Region 1-2A title as well as the No.1 seed for the playoffs.
Jerry Lunsford opened the scoring for the Bulldogs with a 40-plus yard touchdown run, and Coby Jones found Jared Wiltshire for an 81-yard touchdown pass to push the lead to 14-0 midway through the frame.
Jones found Wiltshire for another score – this one from 18 yards out – and Hampton took a 27-0 advantage into the second quarter when Jones threw his third touchdown of the night with Nathan Norris catching a 10-yard score.
Lunsford opened the second quarter scoring with a 36-yard touchdown run, and ran his third touchdown of the night from 48-yards out. The first half was capped with the third Jones to Wiltshire touchdown which covered 49 yards.
The Hampton second string got in the scoring act at the half as Jason Russell and Hunter Davenport added touchdowns.
Lunsford had a stellar night as he record 149 yards on five carries, while Adam McClain tallied 90 yards on six carries. Jones went 6-of-11 passing for 199 yards. Wiltshire had four catches for 176 yards.
The Bulldogs are slated to travel to Cumberland Gap to wrap up the regular season on Thursday.
