Hampton Unable To Rally In Region 1-A Quarterfinals At Cosby

Hampton was unable to rally to extend the season on Friday night.

The Lady Bulldogs saw Cosby take an early lead as Hampton fell 58-41 in the Region 1-A Quarterfinals in Cosby. With the loss, Hampton’s season comes to a close.

After the teams traded shots to open the game, Cosby was able to open up a 17-10 lead after a quarter of play. HHS kept battling but was unable to cut into the lead as the Lady Eagles maintained a 34-22 halftime advantage.

In the second half, Hampton was unable to get a rally going despite a hard-fought effort.

Hannah Baird had 15 points to lead Hampton. Gracie Jenkins scored nine points, while Hannah Smith finished with eight points. Daisy Parks tallied seven points.

Matisse Bible had 20 points to pace Cosby, and Stella Raines had 12 points. Azariah Spurgeon scored 10 points.
