It was a rough night for the Rangers and the Bulldogs.
Unaka was unable to keep pace with the Patriots of Sullivan East as they fell 54-0, while Hampton seemed to be their own worst enemy as they fell 14-8 to Onieda.
Sullivan East 54, Unaka 0
The Patriots jumped out to a 26-0 lead and never looked back against the Rangers. Unaka struggled to get anything going as they were limited to 65 yards in the game.
Ryan Peele had a team-high 29 yards for the Rangers.
Unaka will open the home portion of their schedule next week as they host Hampton.
Oneida 14, Hampton 8
The Bulldogs had their chances. Unfortunately, it was not their night.
Hampton was unable to take full advantage of opportunities as they fell 14-8 to Onieda on Friday night.
Hampton got in striking range in the first quarter, but Onieda struck first midway through the second with a three-yard touchdown pass. The Bulldogs saw a tying touchdown negated by a penalty, and then the Indians picked off a Hampton pass at the one-yard line.
After the Indians added a score early in the third quarter on the opening kickoff, Hampton finally struck with a Coby Jones touchdown pass.
However, the Bulldogs were unable to strike with their final possession before the game expired.
Hampton will open Mountain East play at Unaka next week.
