Hampton, Unaka unable to keep pace

The Highlanders used a late first-half burst to pull away from the visiting Bulldogs on Friday night.

After GP took an early 7-0 lead, Hunter Davenport put HHS on the board with an 18-yard run to tie the game at 7-7 going to the second quarter.

The Highlanders, however, reeled off 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 28-7 lead at the half. Gatlinburg-Pittman pushed the lead to 28 to open the third quarter before the Bulldogs got back on the board with a touchdown pass.

Davenport scored his second touchdown late in the game, but Hampton was unable to rally back.

Midway 50, Unaka 22
Unaka was unable to keep pace with the Green Wave on Stoney Creek.

Unaka saw Midway jump out to an early lead and never looked back as the Green Wave led 44-6 at the half. Blake Isaacs put the Rangers on the board in the first half with a pick-six.

In the second half, Unaka put 16 points on the board as Will Sexton there a pass to Devon Jarrett and Bryson Street rushed for a touchdown.
