A stellar running game requires great blocking, and this week’s Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week had a great game last Friday night.

Hampton’s Zack Guinn anchored an offensive line that cleared the way for 201 rushing yards in the Bulldogs’ 47-0 victory over Mountain East Conference foe Cosby.  Guinn is the third Bulldog to receive the Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week honor.

The Hampton offensive line paved the way for 369 total offensive yards that saw the Bulldogs score early and often in the first half. Guinn and company are 6-1 overall, and have won five straight games. Hampton is ranked eighth in the Class 2A poll

Other Applebee’s of Elizabethton Player of the Week honorees include Jerry Lunsford and Coby Jones from Hampton, Unaka’s Micah Hunt, Colby Birchfield and Zac Benfield from Cloudland and Ethan Thomas of Elizabethton.
