Hampton’s Jones, Lunsford named All-State



The accolades keep coming for Hampton’s Coby Jones and Jerry Lunsford.

The talented duo was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State team on Tuesday.

Jones was voted to the team as an athlete after totaling over 3,100 yards of total offense. The senior recorded 36 touchdowns, 24 of which were passing, and also made his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball as he was Hampton’s leading tackler.

Lunsford was voted to the team as a running back. The senior rushed for over 1,800 yards during the season and surpassed the 2,200 total yard mark. He recorded 30 touchdowns on the season, and also played a huge role in the Hampton defense.

Hampton finished the year in the Class 2A semifinals and recorded a 13-1 record. The squad won their 11th straight conference championship.
