It was a mixed bag for Happy Valley on Saturday.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors counted four points from Nelee Griffith with five from Adrienne Henegar. That allowed Happy Valley to take an 11-4 lead into the second quarter.

Five Lady Warriors scored in the second quarter as HV maintained a nine-point lead at the half.

Kalee Johnson and Kenzie Davis added four points apiece in the third stanza to help the Lady Warriors extend the lead, and from there it was all Happy Valley.

In the boys’ game, Austin Hicks scored six points in the first quarter, but the Blue Devils held a 23-16 lead. Josh Hammonds powered the Warriors to close the gap in the second period as HV closed within a point at the break.

The third quarter saw the teams play even, but Unicoi took control in the fourth quarter and never looked back.
