MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. (Jan. 19, 2015) – Milligan College’s Allison Jones is the Appalachian Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week, announced the league office Monday afternoon.

Jones averaged 28 points per game and led the Buffaloes (6-13, 5-6 AAC) to their second and third straight victories last week. In the midweek game against Montreat on the road, she scored a career high 33 points on 14-of-21 shooting and added five assists and four steals. At home against Point University on Saturday, Jones helped Milligan avenge a loss earlier this season by tallying 23 points, four assists and four rebounds. She missed only three shots in the victory over Point.

Jones’ efficiency, 71 percent from the field and 40 percent from three, helped her lead all scorers in both contests. The junior’s stat line across the two wins was 28 points per game, nine assists, six rebounds, five steals and a blocked shot.

Milligan will be on the road for the next two games, taking on St. Andrews University this Wednesday, Jan. 21 and Tennessee Wesleyan College on Saturday, Jan. 24. The Buffs will be back home on Wednesday, Jan. 28 for a women’s and men’s doubleheader against Union College.
