Hampton picked up a pair of district wins in a county matchup on Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs pulled away to take a 52-25 victory over Unaka, while the Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back to take a 93-47 win over the Rangers.
In the girls’ game, the opening eight minutes saw points hard to come by.
Linsey Jenkins had four points in the quarter for HHS, while Lindy Ramsey hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Rangers as Hampton held an 8-3 lead after a quarter of play.
Ramsey continued to spark Unaka, but Hampton coutnered with three 3-pointers from Madi McClain to take a 25-12 lead at the break.
The third quarter saw the teams go back-and forth as Hampton kept Unaka at bay. Hampton outscored Unaka 12-1 in the final quarter to erase any thoughts fo a comeback.
McClain had 18 points to pace Hampton, while Jenkins finished with 11 points. Macy Henry scored six points.
Ramsey finished with 21 points to lead Unaka.
In the boys’ game, Hampton jumped out early and never looked back.
Cadon Buckles set the tone early for HHS as the Bulldogs took a 24-12 lead after a quarter of play.
Unaka tried to counter with a balanced attack in the second as five players found the scorebook. Hampton, however, pushed the lead to 44-25 at the break.
The Bulldogs kept the pressure on in the second half to secure the win.
Buckles finished with 24 points to lead Hampton, while Geno Carrico had 13 points. Levi Lyons had 10 points.
Mason Wilson and Marcus Shomaker had 14 points apiece to pace Unaka. Landon Ramsey tallied nine points.
