Elizabethton punched their ticket to Murfreesboro with a loud statement.

The Lady Cyclones scored early and often and rolled past Northview Academy to advance to the Class 3A State Tournament with a 61-19 victory inside Treadway Gymnasium.

Elizabethton will open the BlueCross Basketball Championships on Wednesday at 10a CT (11a Elizabethton time) against Upperman.

It was all Lady Cyclones from the start.

Renna Lane opened the scoring and Elizabethton reeled off the first 10 points before Northview got on the board. Lina Lyon and Katie Lee hit back-to-back shots, and Olivia Holly capped the scoring for the quarter as the Lady Cyclones held a 20-4 lead after a quarter of play.

Points were hard to come by for both squads in the second quarter as Lyon and Lane scored to give Elizabethton a 26-9 halftime lead.

The second half was much the same as the first quarter.
Elizabethton scored the first six points of the third quarter and quickly seized the momentum.

Maddie Fowler and Marlee Mathena hit key shots in the period as EHS maintained a 42-15 lead after three complete quarters.

Elizabethton left no doubt in the fourth by reeling off the first 18 points to set off the celebration amongst the Black and Orange faithful.

Lyon had 19 points to lead Elizabethton, while Mathena had 10 points. Holly scored nine points.

Lane and Lee finished with eight points.

Regan Brown led Northview with 10 points.
