Cloudland split a pair of road nonconference games on Tuesday evening.
The Lady ‘Landers pulled away to take a 57-40 victory over Chuckey-Doak, while the ‘Landers were unable to answer a strong second half by the Black Knights as they fell 55-38.
In the girls’ game, Cloudland jumped out early.
The Lady ‘Landers took a 12-5 lead after a quarter of play, and outscored CD 15-7 in the second quarter to take a 27-12 advantage into the locker room.
Cloudland continued to have momentum in the second half to secure the win.
Makinna Shell and Savannah McCoury had 12 points apiece, while Abriella Jones scored 10 points. Regan Blair and Abby Clawson added eight points apiece.
Chuckey-Doak’s Kennedy Brown had 12 points.
In the boys’ game, it was a back-and-forth battle in the opening half.
Cloudland held a 10-9 lead after a quarter of play. The teams swapped shots in the second quarter as the Black Knights took a 22-21 advantage into the half.
The third quarter saw CD outscore CHS 14-6 as the Black Knights, and take a 36-27 lead into the final eight minutes. The ‘Landers continued to fight, but were unable to respond with a run of their own.
Uriah Jarrett had 18 points to lead the way for Cloudland, while Kingston Cole scored six points. Gavin Shell tallied four points.
Gavin Crum led Chuckey-Doak with 18 points.
