Unaka 9, South Greene 3 (softball)
The Lady Rangers clinched a district title with a win over South Greene on Monday.

Unaka broke onto the board in the bottom of the third with three runs and added six more in the home side of the fourth.  The Lady Rebels scored three runs in the seventh, but Unaka limited the opportunity to hold on to the win.

Erica Potter went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Sidney Markland went 2-for-2. Sarah Tipton and Haley Fair added two hits apiece.

In the circle, Sarah Hardin and Corie Schuttler split duties. Hardin allowed five hits with four strikeouts in four innings of work, while Scheuttler had one earned run on five hits and five strikeouts in three innings of work.

Johnson County 10, Happy Valley 4 (baseball)
The Warriors were unable to keep pace with a consistent Longhorn club.

HV jumped out early as Dustun Sams hit a two-run homerun over the right field fence to give the Warriors an early lead. Johnson County, however, scored seven runs over the next three innings while limiting the Warriors to one run during the stretch to take control.

Taylor Hurley had a 2-for-4 performance to lead the way, while Sams added a hit for the Warrior cause.

Sams struck out seven Johnson County batters on the mound.
