Lady Rangers Come Up Short In Region 1-A Semifinals

Unaka left it all on the court Monday night.

The Lady Rangers were unable to keep pace with North Greene in a 50-32 decision in the Region 1-A Girls Semifinals at West Ridge High School.

With the loss, the season comes to a close for the Lady Rangers.

Senior Lyndie Ramsey countered five early North Greene points as the game tied midway through the quarter. After any scored seven straight, Ramsey and the Lady Rangers ended the quarter with five straight points, but NG took a 13-10 lead into the second quarter.

After the Lady Huskies scored the first nine points of the second, Haley Taylor knocked down an Unaka bucket to stop the run. The teams traded shots to end the half as NG maintained a 26-17 halftime lead.

Unaka continued to battle in the second half but was unable to mount a rally.

Ramsey finished with 30 points on the night and with 2,902 points in her stories career.

Hannah Miller led North Greene with 15 points, while Sonya Wanger had 14 points. Cambell Gaby scored 10 points.
