Unaka was unable to get things going on Wednesday night.

The Lady Rangers came up short in a 3-0 decision to North Greene in the winners’ bracket final of the District 1-A Softball tournament on Stoney Creek.

Unaka will take on Cloudland in Thursday’s elimination game. North Greene earned a spot in Friday’s Championship game.

Haley Taylor opened the game with a single for Unaka, and Trinity Bowers drew a walk to put two runners on with two outs for the Lady Rangers.

However, Unaka was unable to get a run across.

The defenses set the tone from there as neither team was able to get much of anything going.

The Lady Huskies finally broke onto the board in the bottom of the sixth with three runs to take control.

In the top of the seventh, Unaka was able to get the tying run to bat but was unable to keep the inning going.

Taylor finished with two hits, while Bowers had a hit.

In the pitching circle, Bowers allowed just one earned run on four hits with nine strikeouts.

For North Greene, Cambell Gaby struck out 11 batters and allowed just three hits.

Paysli Randolph had two hits for NG.
