Lady Rangers fall at North Greene

Unaka was unable to pull off an upset on Monday night.

The Lady Rangers saw their season come to a close in a 71-44 decision to North Greene in the Region 1-A Semifinals in Baileyton. North Greene will host Wednesday’s Championship tilt against Cloudland.

Unaka had to battle back from an early deficit.

North Greene jumped out to a 24-6 lead after eight minutes of play and pushed the advantage to 35-14 at the half.

The Lady Rangers, however, didn’t go without a fight.

Lyndie Ramsey scored 10 points in the third quarter, while Kiki Forney added in five more points as Unaka got the offensive attack going.

The Lady Rangers were unable to take a big bite into the NG lead in the frame or the final eight minutes.

Ramsey finished with 21 points to lead the way for Unaka. Tara Whitehead and Forney had seven points apiece.

North Greene was paced by Haleigh Bernard’s 19 points.
