The Lady Warriors came up short in a 42-37 decision to West Greene in the District 1-2A Consolation game.

Happy Valley will travel to Gatlinburg-Pittman on Friday night to open the Region 1-2A tournament.

After the Lady Warriors held a 3-2 lead over the first six minutes of the game, HV pushed the lead to five before West Greene scored with six seconds left to cut the lead to 7-5 after a quarter of play.

Kadie Bailey and Marcida Moore hit key shots in the second as HV once against pushed the lead out, but the Lady Buffaloes quickly closed the gap to 18-17 right before the half.

The teams swapped shots and the lead throughout the third quarter as Moore’s layup in the closing seconds gave HV a 31-30 advantage after three complete quarters.

In the final quarter, West Greene started the frame on a 6-0 run, but HV closed back within one point with just over two minutes to play. The Lady Buffaloes, however, hit a shot on the other end and sealed the win at the free throw line.

Bailey had 14 points, while Moore tossed in 13 points.

Bailey was named to the All-Tournament team.
