Carter County was well represented in the Small Schools District 1 tournament on Monday afternoon.
Happy Valley saw the girls team qualify while six individuals qualified for the regional tournament.
On the girls’ side, Grace Hollifield fired a 104 while Cayden Anderson fired a 105 as the Lady Warriors came in third play to extend the season.
Hampton’s Macy Henry carded a 105 and Gracie Jenkins tallied a 117 as the duo also advanced to the region tournament individually. Unaka saw Emma Taylor (121) and Alexa Henshaw (122) also secure spots as individuals.
Laikyn Stevens had a great round for Unaka but came up short of extending her season.
On the boys’ side, Colton Pemberton fired an 81 to qualify as an individual for the Warriors, while Mason Wilson carded an 84 for Unaka to earn an individual spot in the region tournament.
Hampton saw Ezra Tolley, Jackson Smith, and Gauge Swafford have great days on the course, but all three came up just short of continuing their season.
