Happy Valley came up short on Monday night.
The Lady Warriors were unable to answer a big second half by South Greene as HV fell 64-42 in the District 1-2A consolation game. Happy Valley is set to open the Region 1-2A tournament on the road at Gatlinburg Pittman on Friday night.
It was a back-and-forth battle in the first half.
Kymber Pruitt and Alex Moore each hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Warriors, but SG took a 12-8 lead after a quarter of play. Six Lady Warriors reached the scorebook in the second quarter as HC used a 10-0 run to take the lead before SG used a run of their own to take a 27-25 lead at the half.
Kortni Bailey scored 14 points in the third quarter for South Greene as the Lady Rebels were able to limit HV to just eight points in the frame. That allowed SG to take a 42-33 lead into the final quarter.
Happy Valley continued to battle but was unable to rally in the final eight minutes.
Josephine Zeoli had 12 points to lead the way for the Lady Warriors, while Cayden Anderson and Moore scored eight points apiece. Pruitt finished with five points.
Bailey scored 35 points to lead South Greene.
