Lady Warriors roll past Johnson County; Warriors fall in Three Rivers Clash

The Lady Warriors jumped out early and never looked back.

Happy Valley rolled to a 61-36 victory over Johnson County on Tuesday on Warrior Hill. In the boys’ game, HV was unable to overcome a sluggish third quarter in a 51-42 loss to the Longhorns.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Warriors outscored JC 17-4 in the opening quarter and pushed the lead to 28-9 at the half. From there, there was no doubt.

Adrienne Henegar had 23 points to lead the way, while Shalyn Whitson had 12 points. Tiana Long tossed in 11 points. Audrey Henegar added nine points.

Taylor Cox led the Lady Longhorns with 15 points.

For the Warriors, it was a tight game through the first half.
Johnson County took a 12-9 advantage into the second stanza. Happy Valley cut into the lead during the second quarter as the Longhorns held a slim 27-25 lead at the break.

The third quarter provided to be the difference maker.

Points came at a premium as HV was limited to just five points in the quarter. That allowed Johnson County to take an 11-point lead into the final eight minutes.

Happy Valley continued to battle, but was unable to complete a rally in the Three Rivers showdown.

Noah Stevens led the way with 20 points, while Bryce Carter had 10 points. Blake Young added nine points.

Blake Atwood had 22 points to lead Johnson County.
