Happy Valley advanced in walk-off fashion.
The Lady Warriors took a 6-5 win over West Greene in the opening round of the District 1-2A tournament on Friday afternoon on Warrior Hill.
With the win, HV advanced to the semifinals and will travel to Chuckey-Doak on Monday afternoon.
In the first inning, HV took a 1-0 lead when Ella Marvel hit a single to plate Aleah Grindstaff.
The Lady Warriors added a run in the second as Trinity Bowers scored off after Grindstaff drew a walk.
Neither team was able to get back on the board until West Greene scored five runs in the top of the sixth to take the lead.
HV, however, continued to battle.
In the bottom of the seventh, Reagan Street and July Nieminski drew walks while Marvel hit a single to load the bases with no outs. The next two HV batters walked, while Maliyah Green was hit by a pitch to push the tying run across the plate.
After a pop out to record the second out of the inning, Grindstaff drew a walk to push Bowers across the plate and send HV to the win.
Marvel went 2-for-3 at the plate, while Street added a hit.
