Marosites named Miss Basketball finalist

Kayla Marosites already has a long list of achievements on her resume. The Lady Cyclone added another impressive one to the list on Friday.

The junior was named a finalist for the prestigious Miss Basketball for Class AA by the TSSAA. The award will be presented during the BlueCross Basketball Championships on March 7th at the Murphy Center in Murfreesboro.

Marosites is averaging just under 20 points per game on the year. In addition, the standout is averaging seven rebound as well as 3.5 steals. She is the defending MVP of the Class AA tournament for her performance in last season’s state tournament that saw Elizabethton claim the Class AA title.

The Lady Cyclone is joined by Anna Hammaker of CAK and Callie Hackett of Smith County as finalists in Class AA.

Marosites and company opens the 2015 District 1-AA tournament on Saturday at Sullivan East.
