The Milligan College women’s soccer team had four players score goals Wednesday night, as the Buffs rolled past the Bulldogs of Union College 4-1 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup at Anglin Field.
With this win, the Buffs advanced to 2-2 (2-0 AAC). Head Coach Lisa Buckley was proud of her squad’s victory, and the unity they presented on the field. “It’s always good to get a solid conference win,” she said after the win. “I thought we were organized defensively and controlled the game.”
Senior Bekah Cundiff put the Buffs on the board for her third goal of the season in the 21st minute and was the only player to score at all in the first half of the contest. Milligan outshot Union 15 to four in the first half.
After a minute of play senior Dharma Fawbush scored her second goal of the season to increase the Buffs lead to 2-0. Union cut the lead back in half with a goal in the 57th minute by Mariane Moschetta. This was the only Union goal of the night as Alyson McMillan and Danielle Calhoun each scored their first goals of the season. McMillan scored her goal in the 73rd minute, and Calhoun scored hers in the 81st minute. The Buffs outshot the Bulldogs in the second half 7-2.
