Milligan College volleyball defeated Appalachian Athletic Conference newcomer Kentucky Christian University in three straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-21) Tuesday night in Steve Lacy Fieldhouse.

The Buffs only trailed the Knights twice throughout the entire match, at the beginning of the first and second sets. The Buffs jumped out in the second set going on a 12-5 run, and their biggest lead of the night was in the third set with a 15-5 lead. Milligan out-killed Kentucky Christian 43 to 27.

Julie Dockery finished the night with nine kills and two errors to have a hitting percentage of .467, and Kellee Geren had 30 assists to lead the Buffs offensive front. Cameron McConnell and Layla Grant led the Buffs defense with 13 and 16 digs respectively.

Up next, the Buffs have two home matches this weekend before hitting the road. They play Allen University Friday, Sept. 13, and Columbia College Saturday, Sept. 14. They will then travel and play Tennessee Wesleyan Tuesday, Sept. 17.
