Monday Round-up: Bulldogs Take County Win Over Unaka

Hampton 26, Unaka 4
The Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back.

Hampton plated nine runs and pushed the advantage to 14-0 after three complete. Unaka continued to battle and plated two runs in the top of the fourth, but Hampton answered with 12 of their own to erase any thought of a Ranger comeback.

Morgan Lyons was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI, while Kalway Heaton was 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Collin Eller, McKinley Kuhn, and Andon Winters each recorded two RBI. As a team, the Bulldogs tallied 12 hits.

Logan Lewis led Unaka with two RBI, while Jaycob Nidiffer had an RBI as well for the Rangers.

Josh Whitson picked up the win for Hampton on the mound to improve to 4-1 on the year. Whitson allowed no hits and struck out seven in three innings of work.

Dobyns-Bennett 13, Elizabethton 6
The Cyclones were unable to keep pace with a consistent DB attack on Monday.

The Indians plated two runs in each of the first four innings and added three in the fifth. Elizabethton got on the board in the bottom of the third, and looked to rally in the home side of the seventh, but came up short.

Gage Treadway was 1-for-3 with two RBI, while Brilee Hurley and Jeriah Griffin both added a hit and an RBI.

Wesley Shankles also tallied an RBI in the game. Kaleb Hambrick and Peyton Johnson also added a hit apiece.

On the mound, Treadway gave up just five earned runs on nine hits with five strikeouts.

West Greene 13, Happy Valley 3
Pedro Colunga went 2-for-4 with an RBI, but the Warriors were unable to overcome a slow start against West Greene.

The Buffaloes jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the opening frame. The Warriors continued to battle but were unable to trim into the lead.

Drew Blevins also added an RBI for the Warriors.
