Monday Round-up: Cyclones Fall to East; Bulldogs Sweep Hancock County

The Cyclones were unable to bounce back on Monday afternoon.

After a scoreless inning, East jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the second and slowly added to the advantage.

Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to mount a rally in the closing innings.

Peyton Johnson and Gage Treadway had two hits a piece for the Orange and Black, while Kaleb Hambrick, Brilee Hurley and Hayden Nave each added a hit.

Hampton 12, Hancock County 2
Hampton 7, Hancock County 1
Hampton surpassed 20 wins on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Hancock County on Monday.

In the first game, the Bulldogs jumped out early and never looked back as they led 9-0 after two innings.

Kalway Heaton, Caleb Royston, and Collin Morgan had two hits apiece to pace Hampton.

On the mound, Morgan picked up the win as he allowed just two earned runs on two hits with seven strikeouts.

The second game saw Hampton’s bats come alive to take a 7-1 win as Hampton’s Chance Point and Morgan Lyons combined to throw a no-hitter.

Royston went 3-for-3 at the plate, while Lyons had two hits and two RBI.
