Elizabethton 7, Sullivan East 3 (baseball)
The Cyclones rallied with seven runs in the final two innings to take a huge Three Rivers Conference win.
After East held a 1-0 lead after five complete, Elizabethton plated four runs in the sixth to take a lead. The Patriots added two runs in the home side of the sixth to close the gap, but EHS added three insurance runs – with home runs from Gage Treadway and Zak Workman – in the seventh to secure the game.
Ashton Wilson, Padraig Murphy, Treadway, and Workman each tallied two hits.
Wilson allowed two earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts to pick up the win. Bryson Rollins earned the save.
Hampton 17, Unaka 0 (baseball)
Caleb Royston threw a no-hitter as Hampton took the first game of a Carter County conference clash.
Hampton led 2-0 after the first inning and secured the win with a 10-run fourth inning.
Morgan Lyons was 3-for-4 with four RBI, while McKinley Kuhn was 2-for-4 with four RBI. Chance Point added three RBI.
Josh Owens and Parker Henry also added two hits.
On the mound, Royston recorded the no-hitter as he struck out seven Rangers.
Happy Valley 14, Sullivan Central 1 (baseball)
The Warriors rolled to a Three Rivers win on Monday.
Eli Ayers was dominant on the mound as he allowed just three hits with six strikeouts.
Andrew Little had two hits, while Lucas Chausee, Colby Chausse, and Hunter Smith recorded two RBI apiece.
Johnson County 5, Happy Valley 4 (softball)
The Lady Warriors were unable to answer a late Lady Longhorn charge as Johnson County plated five runs in the top of the seventh to take the win.
Aleah Grindstaff was 2-for-3 with an RBI to lead HV at the plate, while Laura Rice, Maddie Lingerfelt, Reagan Street, and Cierra Southerland each recorded a hit.
Abby Holt allowed just one earned run on five hits with eight strikeouts in the pitching circle for HV.
Elizabethton 16, Hampton 0 (softball)
The Lady Cyclones jumped out early to take a nonconference victory over Hampton on Monday.
Elizabethton plated three runs in the bottom of the first and three more in the second to take a 6-0 lead into the third. From there, EHS was able to keep the Lady Bulldogs at bay to take the win.
Maddie O’Quinn tallied three hits at the plate, while Emma Pendagrass, Lexie Holmes, Ember Jensen, Madisun Pritchard, and Mailey Ingram all had two hits for Elizabethton.
Pendagrass had five RBI in the game.
Madison Setlock, Alley Shore, and Hazen Brumitt each had a hit for Hampton.
Middle School Golf
Happy Valley saw Nick Bailey fire a 47 to lead the way in a match with Unicoi County on Monday afternoon.
The Warriors also had solid rounds from Joel Shaffer (51), Matthew Savage (52), Donovan Brower (52), and Tyler Bailey (53).
On the girls’ side, Cayden Anderson carded a 51 on the day, with Grace Hollifield firing a 54.
