Monday Round-up: Lady Cyclones, Lady ‘Landers Pick Up Wins

Elizabethton 61, Tennessee High 47
The Lady Cyclones took care of business on Monday night.

In a back-and-forth battle, Elizabethton was able to take care of business down the stretch to improve to 3-1 on the year.
EHS led 30-25 at the break.

Michelle Shields had 18 points to pace the Lady Cyclones, while Kayelyn Nave and Jamira Smalls had 11 points a piece.

Peyton McGee and Marlee Mathena had nine and eight points, respectively.

Cloudland 66, Cornerstone Christian 9
It was Cloudland Monday night.

The Lady ‘Landers jumped out to a 24-2 lead after a quarter of play and never looked back as CHS remained undefeated on the season.

Cloudland maintained a 42-4 advantage at the half.

Izabella Christman scored 13 points to lead CHS, while Makenzie Street had 11 points. Makinna Shell and Eowyn McCoury tossed in eight points a piece.

Ryan Turbyfill tallied seven points.

Boys
Tennessee High 71, Elizabethton 59
The Cyclones were unable to make a late run on Monday night.

After trailing 15-2 early in the game, EHS battled back to close the deficit to 20-15 after a quarter of play. Tennessee High, however, used a quick run to push the lead back to 39-21 at the half.

Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to rally back.

Jackson Hobbs led Elizabethton with 13 points. Will Churchhill added nine points.

Cornerstone 69, Cloudland 49
The ‘Landers were unable to shake off a slow start on Monday night.

Cornerstone took an 18-10 lead after a quarter of play. Cloudland kept battling but was unable to overcome the deficit.

Nick Caraway had a strong performance as he had 26 points – including six 3-pointers – while Cooper Smith had 15 points.

Parker Bradley had 32 points for Cornerstone to lead all scorers.
