Elizabethton saw the season come to a close on Saturday.
The Cyclones came up short in the Region 1-3A Championship game as they lost 6-0 to Greeneville. In the runner-up contest, Elizabethton was unable to battle back from an early deficit as they fell 6-4 to Unicoi County.

In the championship game, it was every bit the heavyweight battle that was expected.
Elizabethton was able to get a runner on in the first and second innings as Bryson Rowland hit a single in the first and JD Hooks drew a walk in the second, but both innings ended with double plays.
In the third, the Cyclones saw Jack Blevins open the frame with a single, and Marshal Holtsclaw drew a walk to get runners on first and second. However, two fielder’s choices ended the inning for EHS.
Greeneville was able to load the bases in the home side of the third, but Elizabethton was able to strand the bases loaded.
Neither team was able to get anything going in the fourth.
Greeneville was able to break through in the bottom of the fifth as Maddox Bishop pushed Carson Quillen and Jeriah Griffin to give the Greene Devils a 2-0 lead. After EHS was unable to get anything going in the top of the sixth, Greeneville added four more runs to secure the win.
Jack Blevins, Justin Whitehead, and Rowland each had a hit a piece.
On the mound, Rowland struck out four batters and allowed just two earned runs on no hits.
Unicoi County 6, Elizabethton 4
Elizabethton was unable to rally back from an early deficit.
After a quiet first inning, Unicoi jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the top of the second.
EHS battled back in the bottom of the second. Hooks and Whitehead reached base to open the frame while a Blevins single to centerfield brought Hooks across the plate. Evan Chambers hit a double to plate Whitehead. Elizabethton saw Holtsclaw draw a walk to load the bases with no out.
The Cyclones pushed runs across as Rhett Slagle and Rowland drew walks to trim the Unicoi lead to 6-4.
Neither team was able to get anything going as base runners were limited and the Cyclones were unable to rally.
Chambers and Blevins each recorded a hit and an RBI, while Whitehead had a hit. Slagle and Rowland also recorded an RBI apiece.
On the mound, Cole Krawczyk allowed no earned runs on one hit in five innings of work.
