It was a split kind of night on Tuesday for the Elizabethton baseball program.

The Cyclones dropped a 5-2 extra innings heartbreaker to David Crockett in the first game, but bounced back to roll to a 10-3 win over the Pioneers in the nightcap on Senior Day.

In the first game, EHS took a 2-1 lead in the third before Crockett tied things up in the fifth. Neither team was able to get on the board over the next two innings. The Pioneers plated three runs in the eighth to take the win.

Justin Whitehead, Ryan Kasting, Carter Reece, Jack Blevins, and Elijah Ambrose each had a hit, while JD Hooks and Rhett Slagle each recorded an RBI.

Jackson Buckles started the game on the mound and allowed one earned run on seven hits with three strikeouts. Justin Whitehead allowed no earned runs on three hits with three strikeouts in three innings of work.

The second game saw EHS jump out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. After Crockett plated two runs of their own in the visiting side of the third, EHS answered with three more of their own to take control.

Slagle went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Reese added two RBI. Blevins and Hooks each had a hit and an RBI.

Slagle struck out nine batters and allowed just three earned runs on 10 hits in seven innings of work.
