It was a split night inside Treadway Gymnasium.
Elizabethton saw the Lady Cyclones take a 50-39 victory over West Ridge, but the Cyclones came up shot in a 75-55 decision to the Wolves.
In the girls’ game, neither team was able to get in separation in the early going.
Lina Lyon provided an early spark for EHS as she tallied eight points in the opening eight minutes as EHS held an 11-8 lead. The teams continued to trade shots as EHS took a 23-19 halftime lead.
The Lady Cyclones continued to have the advantage as the teams played even in the third quarter.
Elizabethton broke free in the fourth.
The Lady Cyclones saw six players score in the final eight minutes to take the win.
Lyon had 22 points to lead Elizabethton. Olivia Holly had nine points, while Marlee Mathena had seven points.
In the boys’ game, Elizabethton saw the Wolves methodically pull away.
EHS stayed in striking distance throughout the first quarter as West Ridge held a 19-15 advantage after a quarter of play. A Wolve run pushed the lead to 37-26 at the half.
Elizabethton continued to battle but was unable to mount a rally in the second half.
Mason Ball had 20 points to lead the Cyclones, while Dalton Mitchell had 19 points.
