HV pushed the lead to 15-12 midway through the quarter after a pair of free throws from Alex Moore, but Hannah Smith and Gracie Jenkins hit shots to push Hampton in front with 1:45 left in the half.

The Lady Warriors, however, answered as Aubree Whitehead and Moore added four straight points to give HV a 19-17 lead at the half.

The second half continued to be back-and-forth.

HV opened the third quarter on a 6-2 run, but Hampton clawed back and used an 8-0 run late in the quarter to take a 32-31 lead into the final eight minutes.

Lauren Smoith drained a 3-pointer for Hampton to open the final quarter. However, Happy Valley answered on the other end with five straight points from Amila Riddick. After an H. Smith basket, HV went on a 6-3 run to take a 42-41 lead with just over two minutes to play.

Payton Ramey tied the game with a free throw with 1:37 left for Hampton, and Jenkins hit a jumper to give Hampton a 44-42 lead with 46 seconds remaining. HV cut the lead to one point with 15 seconds remaining, but a pair of H. Smith free throws secured the win.
