Hampton had the upper hand in a pair of varsity county matchups on Friday night.
The Lady Bulldogs remained perfect on the season with a 57-43 win over Happy Valley, while the Bulldogs rolled to an 83-31 victory over the Warriors on Warrior Hill.
In the girls’ game, it was a back-and-forth battle as Marcia Moore sparked HV with six points while Macy Henry countered with six of her own in the opening frame.
Hampton led 11-9 after a quarter of play.
Madi McClain recorded a pair of 3-pointers in the second, and timely shorts from Taylor Berry and Henry helped the Lady Bulldogs push the lead to 33-19 at the break.
The third quarter saw Kadie Bailey hit four 3-pointers as part of a 14-point quarter to cut into the Hampton lead.
The Lady Bulldogs, however, secured the win in the final quarter to erase any thoughts of an HV comeback.
Henry and Berry led Hampton with 15 points apiece, while McClain had 13 points.
Linsey Jenkins scored 12 points – including her 1,000th career point in the win.
Bailey led HV with 22 points, while Moore finished with 18 points.
In the boys’ game, Hampton set the tone early and never looked back.
Geno Carrico scored six early points as Hampton took an early 18-4 lead after eight minutes of play. The Bulldogs used a balanced attack in the second half to continue to hold the momentum and maintain a 40-12 advantage at the half.
The second half was much the same as Hampton continued to hold the Warriors at bay.
Hayden Campbell led Hampton with 15 points, while Michael Anspaugh had 14 points. Cadon Buckles and Chance Point had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Brody Hicks ended the night with 10 points.
Colby Chausse had 14 points to pace HV, while Ron Parker added six points.
