Cloudland was unable to overcome an early deficit on Monday night.
The Lady ‘Landers fell 11-0 to North Greene in the District 1-A Winner’s Bracket final at Unaka. Cloudland moves to the loser’s bracket final, which will be held on Tuesday, and the Lady ‘Landers will take on Unaka.
After Savannah McCoury got on base with a single in the top of the first, CHS was unable to move the runner past second base. North Greene got rolling in the home side of the frame as the Lady Huskies plated five runs.
NG added two runs in the second and slowly pulled away to take the win.
Jayla Harper was 2-for-2 – both of which were doubles – to lead the way for Cloudland. S. McCoury had one hit.
Matti Phillips led North Greene, as she was 2-for-3 with four RBI – including a homerun.
Hannah Brooks struck out eight batters and allowed just three hits.
