Cloudland and Happy Valley split a pair of varsity contests on Friday night.
The Lady ‘Landers rolled to a 58-24 win over the Lady Warriors while the Happy Valley boys pulled away in the second half to take a 56-37 over the ‘Landers on Warrior Hill.
In the girls’ game, Cloudland limited Happy Valley to take control early. The Lady ‘Landers led 14-4 after a quarter of play and used a run to open the second to take a 34-10 lead into the half.
From there, it was all Cloudland.
Makinna Shell had 16 points to lead Cloudland, and Eowyn McCoury and Savannah McCoury had seven points each. Abby Clawson and Regan Blair scored six points each.
Bailee Jarrett and Amilia Riddick had seven points each for Happy Valley. Jennifer Mutter added six points.
In the boys’ contest, HV jumped out to a 7-0 lead to open the game, but Cloudland fought back to with a run of their own. The Warriors led 15-9 after a quarter of play.
The teams traded runs in the second quarter, with HV using a 7-0 run to end the quarter to take a 29-18 lead into the half.
From there, HV slowly pulled away to secure the win.
Lane Parker led the way with 16 points for Happy Valley. Jackson Grindstaff scored seven points, while Austin Stines and Grady Goulds each added seven points apiece.
Grayson Cole and Uriah Jarrett scored nine points apiece. Brayden Hughes added eight points.
