Unaka came up short on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Rangers dropped a 4-0 decision to North Greene in District 1-A action on Stoney Creek.

Both defenses set the tone in the early innings as neither team was able to get anything going until the top of the fourth when North Greene plated three runs.

Jill Faust and Trinity Bowers got on base in the home side of the frame as Unaka looked to answer, but the Lady Rangers were unable to plate the runs.

Unaka was able to get runners on second and third in the bottom of the fifth, but UHS came away empty-handed despite a hard-fought effort.

Mollie Buckles had two hits to lead Unaka, while Bowers added a hit. In the circle, Bowers had eight strikeouts and allowed just two earned runs on seven hits.

Haley Bailey and Paysli Randolph led North Greene with two hits apiece, while Bailey had two RBI.

Cambell Gaby had eight strikeouts in the pitching circle.
