Unaka picked up a county doubleheader victory on Monday evening.
The Rangers used a big first inning to take a 15-0 win in the first game, and Cloudland saw a late rally come up short as the Rangers held on for a 9-7 win.
In the first game, Unaka jumped out early.
The Rangers plated seven runs in the first and were able to slowly add to the lead to take the win.
Logan Lewis went 3-for-3 with two RBI for the Rangers, while Brycen Eggers added two RBI. Connor Vines finished with three RBI and a hit. Micah Gray added two RBI and a hit.
On the mound, Lewis threw a no-hitter over four innings of work with eight strikeouts.
Brayden Whitaker struck out two batters while allowing just two earned runs on five hits in three innings of work for CHS.
In the second game, CHS took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first before Unaka countered with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
After CHS was held scoreless in the top of the second, Unaka added three runs to push the lead to 5-1 after two innings.
The ‘Landers countered with two runs to close the game before UHS pushed the lead to 9-3 going into the fourth.
Cloudland, however, continued to battle with a run in the fourth and three more in the fifth. CHS was able to get the tying run on base and the potential lead-taking run to the plate, but was unable to bring the run across.
Jaycob Nidiffer finished with three RBI and two hits, while Rylan Crabtree had two hits and two RBI. Eggers added three RBI.
On the mound, Vines allowed just one earned run on two hits with six strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work, and Crabtree struck out seven while allowing three earned runs on two hits.
Tristan Lowery had two hits, while Whitaker finished with two RBI. Colin Davis had an RBI.
Walker Gouge and Jacob Stinnett each recorded a hit.
Stinnett struck out five batters while allowing just two earned runs on three hits in two innings of work.
