Cloudland, Hampton, and Unaka competed in the Carter/Greene County Jamboree on Friday evening at Unaka to wrap up the preseason.
Each team played a 20-minute running clock quarter.
Cloudland 6, West Greene 0
In the opening quarter, the ‘Landers went 70 yards and took 12 minutes off the clock on a drive that was capped with a Grayson Cole touchdown.
West Greene moved the ball to the Cloudland 30, but the ‘Lander defense held on downs to keep the Buffaloes scoreless.
CHS saw Cole finish with 24 yards on seven carries, while Bryce Birchfield had 26 yards on three carries in the quarter.
Walker Gouge caught a 17-yard pass from Birchfield for the ‘Landers.
Hampton 22, South Greene 0
In the second quarter, Hampton set the tone.
The Bulldogs recorded 233 total offensive yards in the 20-minute quarter –
123 of which came on the ground.
Hampton took the opening drive and quickly moved down the field, and scored early as Brock Shelby scored on a three-yard run. Connor McKinney added the two-point conversion when he added the two-point conversion.
The Bulldogs’ defense limited South Greene, and the offense added a pair of touchdown passes – one from 43 yards out and the other from 47 yards out – from McKinney to Shelby to account for the final scoring.
Isaiah Belcher had 42 yards on four carries, while Peyton Townsend had 41 yards on three carries. McKinney was 3-of-4 for 110 yards.
Chuckey-Doak 20, Unaka 0
The Rangers were unable to counter the Black Knights in the final third quarter.
The Unaka defense held strong early before CD broke free on a big play on fourth down.
Asher Dunn caught a pass from TJ Pareenteau for an 11-yard gain to open the Unaka offensive series, but the Rangers were unable to keep the momentum.
Nick Britt and Benjamin Shutko had some strong carries, but Unaka was unable to get a drive going in the quarter.
