With a week left in the regular season, the playoff picture is becoming clearer.
Here is a quick glance at the playoff scenarios as we enter the final week.
Class A
Region 1A
The only thing at stake in Region 1-A this week is if Cloudland will win the championship outright.
With a win against North Greene, the ‘Landers will win the region outright.
Cloudland has secured the No. 1 seed for the playoffs, while Unaka will enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed.
Both teams will host opening-round playoff games.
Cosby will be the No. 3 seed from Region 1-A, while North Greene will enter the playoffs as the No. 4 seed.
Region 2A
After last week’s action, the top two seeds have been determined.
Coalfield will enter the playoffs as the Region 1-2A Champion with the subsequent No. 1 seed, while Oliver Springs will enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed.
The winner of this week’s Oakdale and Greenback game will be the No. 3 seed and travel to Unaka in the first round, while the loser will enter the playoffs as the No. 4 seed and travel to Cloudland for the first round.
Class 2A
Region 1-A
The seeds for Region 1 have been set for a couple of weeks.
Region champs Hampton will be the No. 1 seed with a home game, while South Greene will be the No. 2 seed.
Happy Valley will enter the playoffs as the No. 3 seed and have to travel for the first round, while Cumberland Gap will be the No. 4 seed.
Region 2-2A
The top three seeds for Region 2 are still to be decided.
York Institute will claim the Region Championship with a win this week.
Monterey can claim the Region title with a win as well as a Rockwood win over York Institute.
If both York and Monterey win, York will claim the No. 1 seed, while Monterey will claim the No. 2 seed.
Rockwood could claim the No. 1 seed with a win over York as well as a Wartburg Central win over Monterey.
If both Rockwood and Monterey win, Monterey will claim the No. 1 seed with Rockwood moving to the No. 2 seed with York Institute entering as the No. 3.
The one seed that has been determined is the No. 4 seed as Onieda will travel to Hampton for the first round.
Class 4A
Region 1
The lone seed set in stone is the No. 1 seed as Greeneville claimed the spot with the Region 1-4A Championship.
With a win on Thursday night, Elizabethton will claim the No. 2 seed and a home playoff game with Grainger being the No. 3 and Seymour becoming the No. 4 seed.
With a Seymour win over the Cyclones, Grainger would move to the No. 2 seed with Seymour claiming the No. 3 seed and Elizabethton falling to the No. 4 seed.
Region 2
Anderson County has claimed the No. 1 seed from Region 2 with four other teams vying for the other three spots.
If Gibbs and Knox Carter take wins this week, Gibbs will claim the No. 2 seed with Carter earning the No. 3 seed. Fulton will be the No. 4 in that scenario.
If Carter and South Doyle both take wins,
Carter will take the No. 2 seed, while Fulton and South-Doyle will be the No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
Any other combination of wins would see Fulton take the No. 2 seed, Gibbs coming in as a No. 3, and Carter claiming the No. 4 seed.
