It is hard to believe that Week 11 is here.

With one week remaining, we take a look at the playoff scenarios for the Carter County teams as well as the Region 2. This is unofficial, and brackets will be released/finalized on Friday night once all games are completed.

Class A

Region 1-A is set for playoffs. Cloudland will be the No. 1 seed for the region after going 4-0 in region play. Oakdale will be the No. 2 seed – even if they were to lose to Concord Christian on Friday night as they have the head-to-head tie breaker over No. 3 Hancock County. Unaka will be No. 4 seed and will travel to the Region 2-A No. 1 seed.

Over in Region 2-A, all the teams are playing conference games. However, we have a good idea of how things will play out.

Undefeated Greenback will be the No. 1 seed, and will host Unaka in the first round. The winner of the Coalfield/Oneida game will be the No. 2 seed and host a home playoff. The loser of the Coalfield/Onieda game will have to travel first round as the No. 3 seed. Harriman as locked down the No. 4 seed even with a loss against Jellico as they hold the first three-way tiebreaker over Midway and Jellico. The Blue Devils will travel to Cloudland for the first round.

Class 2A

In Region 1-AA, we know the four teams but all four (Happy Valley, Hampton, Gatlinburg-Pittman and Sullivan North) still have work to do.

If Hampton, Happy Valley and Gatlinburg-Pittman all win on Friday, Happy Valley will be the No. 1, Hampton the No. 2 and the Highlanders No. 3. With a HV win, GP win and an upset of Hampton, Gatlinburg-Pittman would take the top spot with the Warriors falling to the No. 2 seed.

A Hampton win, GP win and HV upset would give the Dogs the No. 1 seed with GP taking the second seed and the Warriors falling to the No. 3 seed. With a Sullivan North win over Gatlinburg-Pittman and wins from HV and Hampton, the order would be No. 1 Happy Valley, No. 2 Hampton, No. 3 Sullivan North and No. 4 Gatlinburg-Pittman.

In other words, these teams have to take care of business and there will be some serious scoreboard watching for all four teams on Friday night.

Region 2-AA will see a defacto championship game on Friday night between Austin-East and Knoxville Grace. The Roadrunners and Rams are both undefeated in conference play, and the winner will take the No. 1 seed with the other falling to the No. 2 seed.

Sweetwater will be the No. 3 seed. The No. 4 seed in the region is still in the air with three teams vying for the final spot.  With a Rockwood win over Tellico Plains, the Tigers will be the No. 4 seed. Tellico Plains can get into the playoffs with a win over Rockwood as well as an Oliver Springs loss. Oliver Springs needs a win and Rockwood loss to get into the playoffs.

Class 3A

Region 1-3A will come down to the wire on Friday night. Elizabethton and Northview Academy will play for the No. 1 seed in Kodak. The winner will take the top seed with the loser falling to No. 2. Pigeon Forge has secured the No. 3 seed.

The region will also have a “win and in” game between Unicoi County and Johnson County. The winner will advance to the playoffs as the No. 4 seed with the loser seeing their season come to a close.

In Region 2-3A, two games will determine the final standings. Alcoa and CAK will square off in a battle of 8-1 teams (both are 4-0 in regional play) with the winner taking the region title and the No. 1 seed. The loser will be the No. 2 seed and face a possible road trip in the second round.

Scott and McMinn Central will square off for the No. 3 seed. The loser will fall to the No. 4 seed.
