Elizabethton jumped out early and used a strong defensive performance to take care of the rest.
The Lady Cyclones saw Madisun Pritchard throw a no-hitter as Elizabethton took a 2-0 victory over Volunteer on Monday in the District 1-3A tournament at Sullivan East.
With the win, Elizabethton advances to take on Tennessee High at 7:30p on Tuesday evening in the winner’s bracket final. The winner will secure a spot in the Championship game as well as a Region 1-3A berth.
The Lady Cyclones struck first in the top of the first.
Maely Ingram scored off a Pritchard single, and Mollie Johnson drove Maddie O’Quinn across home plate. That gave EHS a 2-0 lead after the top of the frame.
From there, the Elizabethton defense took over as they limited the Lady Falcons.
Pritchard went 3-for-3 at the plate. In the pitching circle, Pritchard struck out six batters.
Ingram added two hits for Elizabethton, while Kenidy Harris, Hannah Morgan, Johnson, and O’Quinn each added a hit.
