Unaka came up short on the road on Friday night.

The Rangers dropped a 46-20 decision to undefeated Midway in nonconference play. With the loss, Unaka falls to 1-2 on the season.

After the Green Wave jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, the Rangers defense limited the opportunities for Midway in the second quarter, but was unable to get the offensive attack rolling.

Unaka trailed 40-0 at the break.

The Rangers, however, kept fighting.

John Ramsey put Unaka on the board in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, and Logan Benway added a score with just over eight minutes to play.

Ramsey struck again to add a five-yard rushing touchdown to the books, and Reid Taylor added the two-point conversion.

The Rangers return to Stoney Creek for next week’s game as they welcome Jellico for a region tilt. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
